David Matthew, 69, of Winter Haven, FL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.

Born April 20, 1949 in Guyana, South America to Akbar and Mariam Hussain, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL from Canada in 1988 and then he moved to Winter Haven in 1996. He was a respiratory therapist and retired working at Winter Haven Hospital and had also worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, FL. David’s faith was very important and attended many church’s in the area including Christ Community Church in Winter Haven. He was a very simple man and loved to garden, a hobby he had enjoyed as a child in Guyana with his grandfather.

He is survived by: his wife of 30 years, Khyrool Husain; two sons, Jason Turner and his wife, Alia of Alpharetta, GA and Tyrone King and his wife Marie of Winter Haven, FL; three brothers, Zaman Hussain and his wife Zoreen of Massachusetts, Kamal Hussain and his wife Datsy of Montreal, Canada and Jamal Hussain and his wife Merzeene of New York; two sisters, Zena Hussain of New York and Fazie Vitale of New York and three grandchildren, Selena, Nyla and Malia.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm till 2:00pm, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm with burial at Auburndale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
