Obituary for John William “Bud” Smith

John William (Bud) Smith, died on August 5, 2018. He was born on December 22, 1933 in Giles County, TN. He was the 12th of 13 child of Otis And Minnie Smith.

He lived on the family farm until he was 17, moved to Illinois where he eventually got a job at Bell and Gossett, where he worked 26 years. He and Jo moved to FL in 1980, where they managed a small mobile home park, did yard work, worked for the Town of Dundee for many years, drove the garbage truck until he retired, then he helped Jo with the cards for American Greetings. He was a past member of Dundee Lions Club. He delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He was admired and respected by all who knew him and will be sorely missed by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo; daughters Barbara, Donna (John), and Vicki; son, Danny; brother, Bobby; 9 grandchildren, Paul (Pam), Craig, Tim, Ashley, Jacob, Roger, John, David, and Aly; 7 great grandchildren, C.J., Patrick, Chance, Kyrin, Brynlea, Mary, Ruby and several “honorary” grandchildren, Kip, Brandee, Aubrey, Cadence, Tammy, Cassie, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral, just a family gathering to celebrate Bud’s life.
