Juanita “JJ” Jackson

Juanita “JJ” Jackson of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. She was 97. A native of Nashville, GA, born May 12, 1920 to Roy and Minnie Hancock Shaw, JJ grew up in Vidalia, GA.
She moved to Winter Haven in 1983 from Avon Park, FL. JJ worked many years for Neisners Department Store, and after her retirement, she was a Pink Lady working in the gift shop at Winter Haven Hospital for over 30 years. JJ was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #281 of Vidalia, GA, the Winter Haven Auxillary, and loved dogs, yardwork, baseball, the North Carolina Mountains; antiques, driving around viewing Christmas lights, and she especially loved cooking. She was a tugh lady who worked right into her 90’s.
JJ was preceded in death by her husband AH Jackson, Sr., her son Skipper Jackson, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. She is survived by her daughter Scarlett Glover; her grandchildren: Dennis Jackson (Lisa), Ray Jackson (Kelly), and great-grandchildren: Cory Jackson, Lauren Jackson, Nathan Jackson, and Hayden Jackson; and JJ’s daughter-in-law Mary Jackson.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Pink Lady Auxiliary at Winter Haven Hospital. Condolences to the family can be sent to: www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
