SCOTTY “SCOTT”‘S OBITUARY

Scotty “Scott” Edwin Jones, 40, was found deceased on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in his Riverview, Florida home.

Scott was born July 3, 1979, in Boaz, Alabama, to the late Edward and Kathy (Ellis) Jones. He often traveled to Frostproof, FL, to visit close cousins and was known for being the funniest of the bunch!

In the banking industry for nearly 20 years, he was highly insightful and an asset to Citi Bank’s Financial Intelligent Unit. His Citi co-workers knew him to be the life and laugh of the party. He was there for 12 years! He’d just begun a new opportunity with the Bank of Ozarks and was excited to start employment and make new friends there.

All of his friends and family members agree that Scott was both clever and hilarious!! He could keep a funny joke and comical dialog going for hours. His Facebook page will have anyone with a sense of humor “in stitches”. He was so unique with his reverse hashtags (like inspire#) and had impeccable comedic timing! Not one to dress up outside of work, he’s known for his favorite staple of a white tee shirt and blue jeans. In his own words, his son, Aiden, was his “entire world”. His poignant and heartfelt advice to him was filled with the wisdom of experience when he shared these words: ”If I could pass one huge piece of advice, it would be never ever let small problems keep you apart. Life is very special. It is very precious. We are not built for constant battles. If you value your friend more than your pride, say I’m sorry and move on. Life is simply too short… I’m always here for you buddy. I love you more than you know.” Aiden describes his dad as “a lifeline to comedy, someone who loved cars and electronics – he always had the newest phone, he was like no one else… he was intelligent and made people laugh, no matter what”

It is impossible to calculate the loss felt by so many of those he left behind. He is survived by an only son, Aiden Jones, his sister, Kristy Turner, one aunt, Gail (Ellis) Keen, and many Florida and Alabama cousins.

Gone too soon, but forever in the hearts of those he loved. We choose to memorialize him, not in the somberness of death, but in the celebration of his life.

Please join us as we remember the good times we shared (many will wear white shirts and jeans in commemoration). Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, FL. Memorial service will follow at 6:30 pm at Christian Fellowship Assembly, located at 16 E. First Street, Frostproof, FL 33843, with Pastor Joshua Paul officiating.
