Jessie Ola Respress of Frostproof, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
She was born August 28, 1930, in Frostproof, Florida to the late Elliot and Alma (Gavin) Thornton. She was a member of the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Frostproof Fireman’s Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Respress, parents, brothers and sisters, James Thornton, Ernest Thornton, Gordon Thornton, Laurie Thornton, Henry Thornton, Bonnie Ehrlichman and Marietta Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Garcia and her husband, Frank of Frostproof, FL; sons, Ernest L. Respress and his wife, Lynn of Frostproof, FL, Henry Grady Respress and his wife, Donna of Frostproof, FL and Richard A Respress of Frostproof, FL; brothers, Vernon Thornton of Frostproof, FL and Ellis “Pender” Thornton and his wife, Mary of Jefferson, GA; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at Family Life Church in Frostproof, Florida with Rev. Kelly Galati and Elder Gary Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery.
