Bea Jones, of Davenport, Florida passed away on December 16, 2018. She was 70. She was born on July 27, 1948 in Gruetli, TN and moved to Davenport in 1960 from TN. After graduation and getting married Bea and her husband moved to Fort Pierce, Florida and returned to Davenport some 5 years ago. While living in Fort Pierce she was employed at the St. Lucie Hospital as a billing clerk, retiring after some 20 years of service. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Fort Pierce and had a true passion and love for blue grass music and Gospel music. Bea loved to attend family get togethers and she and her husband were good cooks and parents, both being fondly remembered as “Good People.” She was predeceased by her husband, Les Jones; parents, Chester and Lou Caldwell Layne; siblings, Druscilla Campbell, Harlan Layne and Donald Layne. Bea is survived by her daughters, Maxine Collins, Marietta Lybrand; siblings, Ophelia “Bunt” Chandler, Mildie Thames, Brenda Thames, Martha Bosley and Velda Butler; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 10:30 am until the funeral at 11 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with Pastor Joe Kennedy officiating and the committal service will follow at 2:30 pm at White City Cemetery in Fort Pierce, Florida.
