Calvin Coolidge White

Calvin Coolidge White, 87, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away on August 6, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Lakeland Hospice House.
Born July 1, 1929 in Bangor, Maine to Ralph and Rosella White, he moved to Winter Haven in 1970 from Connecticut. He was an author, chef and culinary instructor. Calvin was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served in WWII. He was of the Methodist Faith, a member of the American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven and authored children’s books.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by: his wife Manerva White White; a daughter, Jan Dunaway of Winter Haven; a son, Christopher White of Winter Haven; 2 step-sons, Allen Boyne of Lakeland, FL and Robert Boyne of Winter Haven; 2 grandchildren, Cory Dunaway and Erica Joppien; and 1 great-grandchild, Chris Joppien.
A memorial service will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date to be announced.
