JIMMIE’S OBITUARY

Jimmie Lee Brown, 84

On December 25, 2018 as we celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ we also celebrated the home going of Jimmie Lee Brown who faithfully served our Savior his entire life.

He was born March 4, 1934 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Noah J. and Annie L. (Shellnut) Brown. He has been a resident of the area since 1952 coming from Cullman, Alabama. He was a retired Curator for Bok Tower Gardens. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church in Winter Haven where he served with Missions 101 as was active with “Seniors With a Testimony”. Jimmie was an avid lover of music and was a gospel singer. He served as Music Director for over 40 years for the First Baptist Church of Waverly as well as several other churches in Polk County. He was a former Volunteer Firefighter for the Waverly Fire Department, he was a Jack of all trades, loved fishing and never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his 1st wife Doris Jean Brown, and 9 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Janice B. Brown, and his children Patricia E. Heath and husband Dan of Winter Haven, FL, Peggy E. Koruschak and husband Mark of Lake Wales, FL, Perry E. Brown and wife Becky of Frostproof, FL, his step children Myra Corrado and husband Keith of Sebring, FL, Clay Minshew and wife Kathy of Auburndale, FL, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with memorial services to be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Parkland Baptist

Church 1800 8th Street S.E. Winter Haven, Florida 33880.
