Winter Haven, FL – Patricia “Pat” Du Pouy, age 81, a resident of Winter Haven, FL, passed away on December 12, 2020.   Pat was born March 20, 1934 in Swedesboro, NJ to James Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth Crawford. 

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jack DuPouy, and her sister, Kathleen Mortimer of Woodstown, NJ.  She is survived by 2 brothers, William Crawford, Mullica Hill, NJ and Michael Crawford (Margo) of Elmer, NJ, 2 sisters,  Eileen Schrier of Salem, NJ, and Joan Loper (Wayne) of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and sister-in-law, Frances Weaver (Dick) of Boynton Beach, FL, brother-in-law Edward Doerrmann of Wilmington, NC and brother-in-law Jeffrey Mortimer of Woodstown, NJ.    Also, Pat’s two daughters, Dianne Faubert (James) of Winter Haven FL and Nancy Oakes (Derren) of Winter Haven, FL; her 4 grandchildren, Justin Oakes (Brittney), Emilie Oakes, Matthew Faubert (Erica) and Joel Faubert (Monica), and, her 6 great-grandchildren, Ashlin Oakes, Chloe Oakes, Isabelle Oakes, Jackson Oakes, Hunter Moore, and Wyatt Oakes.

 

Pat grew up in Swedesboro, NJ and married the love of her life, Jack DuPouy in 1958 in Woodstown, NJ.  They were married 52 years.   In 1968, they made a move from New Jersey and began a landscaping business in Deerfield Beach, FL.   Pat was a homemaker and mother to her two daughters.   She was very involved in St. Ambrose Catholic School where their daughters attended.  She was the bookkeeper and assistant with their landscaping business.    In 1976, they moved to Haines City, FL.  They purchased a campground.  Pat became involved in the daily business of the campground.   In the early 1980’s, they decided to move to Cypresswood Country Club.  Pat never became an avid golfer, but she watched the games and knew the golf pros. Their last business was a move to Cherokee, NC where they owed another campground for a few years and then retired in Winter Haven, FL.    After her husband’s death, she lived at the EC apartments in Winter Haven, FL.  She met many friends and stayed involved in their events. Her final residence was Life Care Center in Winter Haven, FL.

 

Pat loved cooking and all her children and family.   She took care of her grandchildren and loved each of her great-grandchildren.   Mom-Mom attended their sports games, theatre events, pageants, and all annual family events.   Pat’s sayings were: “Love God and your family” and “hold on, I have to put my lips on.”

She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be deeply missed.
