Ronald L. “Ron” Nelson, 67 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

He was born July 20, 1951 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to the late August and Doris (Larson) Nelson and he has been a resident of this area for 10 years moving here from Ohio. He was a Dispatch Manager for Norcon.  Ron was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club, He was a Basketball Referee for high school for over 20 years, was a gifted athlete and referee for Volleyball, he was excellent at golf, card games and softball , he won awards in high school in sports. Ron was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the US Marines and was of the Grace Lutheran Faith.

He was preceded in death by his brother, August Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Karen E. Nelson; sisters, Karen Daggett (Delta) of Venice, Fl., Susan Bertelson (Dave) of Parrish, Fl., Janee Nelson of Lake Park, MN; brother, Bob Nelson of Mesa, AZ and were blessed with wonderful nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.
