Anthony P. Albano of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Lake Wales Medical Center.
He was born September 13, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Pasquale and Filomena (Lombardi) Albano. He has been a resident of the area for 1 year coming from Winter Haven, Florida where he was a resident for 10 years. He was a retired car inspector for New York Transit Authority, of the Catholic faith and a veteran in the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He loved listening to music and fixing stereos, was a Mr. fix it and a dedicated family man. He liked to be on the water and boating. He was active in the church and loved the Lord.
Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bridget Albano. He was survived by his wife of 12 years, Susette Albano; children, Suzanne Hallock of New York, Michael Albano of New York, Louis Albano of New York, Patricia Mahan of New York, Salvatore Albano of Florida, Anthony Albano of Florida, Bridget Swamback of Florida and Filomena Fuoco of Florida; brother, Louis Albano of Arizona; and 20 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, June 15, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Sarasota. Interment will follow at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
