Obituary for Charles K. “Charlie” Criss

Charles K. “Charlie” Criss of Winter Haven, FL passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018. He was 86. A native of East Liverpool, Ohio, born March 17, 1932 to Joseph and Alice Mae Criss, Charlie moved to Florida 71 years ago. He was a retired Corporate Treasurer for Sun Pac Foods; a US Navy veteran during the Korean War era; member of the First Christian Church of Haines City; graduate of Florida Southern College and attended the University of Florida where he was life member and past President of Tau Kappa Epsilon. Charlie also was a little league baseball coach; Past Treasurer of Winter Haven Area Chamber of Commerce, Past Treasurer of the Florida Citrus Showcase; 1st. President of Polk County Chapter of Institute of Management Accountants; 1st. President of the Florida Council, and National Director of SCMS (OFIMA); and he was Past Commodore of Lake Region Yacht & County Club.
Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Ann Criss. He is survived by his loving wife Martha Steward Criss of Winter Haven; his children: Patricia Wilson (Harry) of Greensboro, NC, Michael Alan Criss (Peggy), Robert Charles Criss, Richard Clyde Criss (Michelle)all of Winter Haven, Dorothy Steward of Leysin Switzerland, Carl Steward (Cynthia) of Ashville, NC, Bill Steward (Julie) of Quincy, FL; his sister: Mae Charlene Peterson, and sister-in-law Roberta Criss, both of Lakeland. Charlie also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the First Christian Church of Haines City. Interment will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
