DOROTHY’S OBITUARY


Dorothy Smith Taggett passed on November 29, 2018 at age 92. She was born in Orange, NJ March 11, 1926, the daughter of Roy Clinton Smith and Martha Hood Masker. She grew up in Livingston, NJ. She graduated Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY in 1947, majoring in fabrics. She married Paul Taggett October 1, 1949. They celebrated their 69th anniversary recently. She is survived by her husband Paul, children James Taggett, Lake Wales, Catherine Taggett and husband Ron Snyder, Blaine, WA, and grandson Nathan Ryweck and wife Nish Ramakrishnan, Issaquah, WA.

She went through several sewing machines, making clothes for the entire family. She was also a quilter, knitted and did needlepoint. She was costume lady for many productions of the Baldwinsville Theater Guild, Baldwinsville, NY, including My Fair Lady, Camelot, Brigadoon, and South Pacific. She did extensive traveling in the US, Asia, and Europe.

She and her husband moved to Water’s Edge, Lake Wales in September 2016 from Baldwinsville, NY.
A Celebration of Life Service will be December 10, at 2:00pm at Water’s Edge with a reception to follow.
