Elsie E. Stephan, 88 of Frostproof, Florida passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on March 25, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Carl and Alberta (Olsen) Newburg and she has been a resident of this area since 1979 moving here from Brooklyn, New York. She was a homemaker. Elsie was a member of the Lake Wales Elks Lodge and former officer of the lodge. She enjoyed traveling and handwork.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Edward A. “Eddie” Stephan; daughter, Vicky Ross of Brooklyn, New York; son, Alan Gelb ( Joanne) of Goshen, New York; 2 grandchildren, Lee Gelb ( Jessica) and Kevin Gelb; 1 great grandchild, Bobby Gelb.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
