Geraldine’s Obituary
Geraldine Guthrie Sears, 88, of Davenport, FL went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2020. She was born on December 17, 1931 on the Batten Farm in Pearson, Georgia to Gerald and Mabel Tanner Guthrie. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, of 68 years, Virgil Sears, Jr., and her brothers, Royce and Will Guthrie. She is survived by her five loving children, Wanda Sears Ellis and her husband, Scotty and Brenda Sears Bragg, both of Haines City, FL, Danny Sears and Virgil Sears III, both of Davenport, FL, Dewayne Sears and his wife, Sharon of Tracy City, TN. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by her longtime caregiver and friend, Kimberly Howell. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill Guthrie and his wife, Marie of Marietta, GA, Sammy Guthrie and his wife, Doris, Margaret Smith and her husband, Herschell, Faith Bennett and her husband, Grady and Loyce Guthrie, widow of Will of Pearson, GA, Anna Causey of Willacoochee, GA and Bobby Guthrie and his wife, Karen of Douglas, GA. There is also a number of nieces, nephews and a large extended family that will miss her.

Geraldine was a homemaker who took excellent care of her family. She was a wonderful Christian woman who blessed her family and friends alike with her kind heart and generous nature. She was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm and the funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with Ordained Minister Dewayne Sears officiating. Interment to follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
