LEILA’S OBITUARY

Leila Christy Roberts, 92
Leila C. Roberts of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her residence.
She was born December 26, 1925 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania to the late John B. G. and Christine (Ament) Roberts Sr. She graduated from Charleroi High School and entered nursing school in St. Margaret’s Episcopal Hospital in Pittsburgh as a U.S. Army Nurse Cadet. The war ended before her graduation and she never served on active duty. After spending some time in Pittsburgh hospitals, she became a school nurse and moved to Maryland where she served until her retirement. She was a member of D.A. R., Eastern Star, White Shrine, the American Nurses Association, Baltimore County Nurses Association, past President Maryland State Nurses Association, past National Board Member National School Nurses Association. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales.
She is survived by her brother John B.G. Roberts Jr. of Babson Park, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Marion Nelson Funeral
Home with funeral service to be held 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales with interment at Lake Wales Cemetery.
