Irene was a veteran of World War II. She served as priorities and traffic officer from January of 1943 to May of 1946 in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. During her early retirement years Irene enjoyed cruises, traveling, crafts, and attending Miami Dolphin football games. Always an avid reader, in her later years she kept up with current events and enjoyed card games, board games, bingo and attending the theater with friends at Spring Haven Retirement in Winter Haven, FL, where she also loved watching the birds on Lake Hartridge and the beautiful sunsets from her lakeview apartment. Irene was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winter Haven, FL.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Lt. Col. Hardie M.
