He enjoyed attending Cornerstone Baptist Church in Davenport with his daughter and her husband. Joao was all about dancing, he loved the attention that he would get after getting all dressed up in his fine suits and hats and going to the dance halls. He could and, did, dance for hours on end, almost to the point of exhaustion. John’s personality was one that could never be duplicated and never forgotten.

John is predeceased by his wife, Josephine Oliveira, his brother Joao Santos, his sister Carlota Santos and his grandson, Stephan Gomez. He is survived by his children, Marcel Gomez, Jean-Pierre Gomez, Tony Gomez, Julie Cowin, Jean-Claude Gomez; siblings,  Julia Santos, Adelaide Santos, Manuel Santos, Henrique Santos ; Godchild, Elizabeth Johnston; grandchildren, Jacira Cowin-Prasad, Javier Cowin, Samirez Gomez and great grandson, Jayvien Prasad.

A visitation will be Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m., with service starting at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow for family and friends at Mr. John’s residence in 104 Whirlaway Drive Davenport, FL 33837.
