Tom Avirett of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 6, 1945 to the late Robert and Indiana (Barnes) Avirett. He was a Building Contractor and Owner of Tom Avirett Building and Roofing. He was born in Lake Wales and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany during the Viet Nam war. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and served as Song Director. He spent many years coaching and participating in Lake Wales Little League, enjoyed singing, studying Spanish and German, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Buddy Avirett, Frank Avirett, Paul Avirett, and grandson Xavier Koloc.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carolyn Avirett, daughter Diana Koloc and son in law Joe of Lake Wales, son John Thomas Avirett Jr. of Bradenton, FL, sisters Jane Land, Sara Pearce, and Mary Alice Avirett all of Lake Wales, brothers Ronnie Avirett of Sarasota, FL, James Avirett of Pace, FL, Pat Avirett of TN, 8 grandchildren Kayla Avirett, Jessica Avirett, Joshua Avirett, Gabriel Koloc, Raphael Koloc, Maximus Koloc, Titus Koloc, Quintus Koloc.

Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with interment at Lake Wales Cemetery.
