LEO’S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran

Leo F. Cetuk, 95, of Lake Wales, FL passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on September 3, 1925 in Ashley, Pennsylvania to Anthony and Stella Wallace Cetuk. Leo was a proud veteran of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, serving our country during World War II and a veteran of the European Compaigne. He moved to Lake Wales, FL 43 years ago from Piscataway, NJ, worked as an insurance agent for John Hancock for 30 years and later started his own nursery company, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Garden Club of Lake Wales and volunteer at the Care Center in Lake Wales, FL.

He was an avid harmonica player & collector, especially collecting rocks & minerals. Leo enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling all over the United States and Canada. It was said that he was an adventurer, in fact, to celebrate his 80th birthday he flew in a glider.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Charles Sluzenski, Helen Sluzenski, Anthony Sluzenski and Anthony Cetuk, Jr. He is survived by his son, Norman B. Cetuk and wife, Virginia of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Cynthia Vergara and husband, Jorge of Lake Hamilton, FL; grandchildren, Dawn Wessler, Wendy Ferrante, Russell Cetuk, Mitchell Cetuk, David Flower and Raphael Vergara; and great grandchildren, Emily Wessler, Keira Wessler, and Christopher Flower.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
