MARIE HALL THORNTON, 88

Marie Hall Thornton of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her residence.
She was born June 15, 1931, in Frostproof to the late Dock and Jessie (Carter) Hall; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a police dispatcher for the Lake Wales Police Department. She was a former member of the Southside Baptist Church. She also loved to sew, plus working out in the yard with her flowers and watching baseball.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Thornton, Sr in 2000. Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Horne and her husband David of Jacksonville, FL and Dolores Manley and her husband Wayne of Avon Park, FL; sons, Wayne Thornton and wife Mary Susan of Crawfordville, FL and Oran Thornton, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Frostproof, FL; sister Doris McKinney of Bartow, FL and 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Frostproof Church of God in Frostproof with Pastor Sammy Haag officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
