Michael “Mike” Nikitin, formerly of Winter Haven, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte. He was 86. A native of Sumska Oblast Konapol Ukraine, born December 12, 1933 to Zachar and Moitra Nikitin; Mike came to Winter Haven in 1971 from Maryland. He owned and operated the Garden Lodge Motel in Winter Haven, and was also in the Citrus business. He was a US Army veteran, and a member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Church in Northport, FL where he has been residing the last several years.

Mike was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Tamara Hawrysch Nikitin, his parents, his brother Nickolai Morhotski, and his sister Tekla Long. He is survived by his wife Mary Nikitin; his daughter Tina Nikitin Johnson (Steve), his brothers Bill Nikitin, and John Nikitin, and three step-children. Mike also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and sisters in law.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Royal Palm Cemetery in St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 1158 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952
