RAMONA’S OBITUARY
Ramona Caldwell Dicks, 91 a resident of Winter Haven, FL, died March 17, 2021, at Life Care Center of natural causes.Born in Dundee, FL, March 11, 1930, Ramona was the fifth of eight children of Estelle Albritton Caldwell and Charles Caldwell,She was married to former husband, Leonas (Bee) Dicks and is survived by their three sons, Rick (Jo), Ronnie (Jill) and Dennie (Susan); 12 grandchildren, Jeff, Todd, Randy, Adam, Bryan, Michael, Stephen and Kasey Dicks, Rebecca Henderson, Jill Bishop and Amanda Garbrecht and 21 great grandchildren. Ramona is also survived by her siblings, Carl Caldwell, Carol Meriwether, Levon Norton; nieces, nephews and childhood “forever” friends, Ginny Greiner Elliott and Judy Amos Bowen.

She was predeceased by her parents; former husband; granddaughter, Andrea Hartley and brothers, Houston, Hurbert, Chester and Herman Caldwell.

Ramona was born and raised a “native” Floridian, who, along with Bee Dicks founded L. Dicks, Inc., a citrus business that continues as a family citrus company, 65 years later. A beautiful, elegant lady, Ramona enjoyed modeling in local fashion shows and was an accomplished seamstress, creating her fashionable wardrobe for many years. She also used her needlework skills to embroider heirloom crewel art work. She was a wonderful cook and baker, whose recipes are treasured by family and friends.

Ramona is affectionately remembered as a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend, who valued relationships and gave her very best when raising her “boys”, even coaching their baseball team. She delighted in family gatherings and yearly reunions of the “Dundee Depression Kids”.

Ramona was a member of the Winter Haven Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 20, at 9:00 at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven, FL.
