Shirley May Twitchell Bekkenhuis, 92 of Indian Lake Estates, Florida passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born on November 25, 1925 in Braintree, Massachusetts to the late

Lawson B. and Mildred (Dyer) Twitchell and she has been a resident of this area for over 30 years. She was a Homemaker. She loved the Lord, was a service minded person always liked to help others, enjoyed golfing and gardening, was an active church member in the past, she loved to camp and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Bekkenhuis in 2000.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Stoddard of Indian Lake Estates; sister, Eleanor Bestick of Massachusetts; brother, Clyde Twitchell of Vermont; 2 grandchildren, John Pietras and Melissa White; 3 great grandchildren, Amanda, Gina and Kayla.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
