STEVEN’S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran 

Steven D.  “Redwood” Wilson, 68, of Babson Park, Florida passed away Sunday, January 5, 2019 in Lake Wales.

He was born December 6, 1950 in Bartow, Florida to the late David E. and Doris M. (Tucker) Wilson, and he has been a lifelong resident of this area. Steve was a 1969 graduate of Lake Wales High School and proud member of the Highlander Band. Graduated from Webber College with a bachelor’s degree in Business.

He was the Owner of Sanctuary Insurance. He was a member of Sticky Steve & The Pollinators. He supported Sandy’s Music Girls. He was a member of the VFW Lake Wales. He volunteered for Wounded Warriors, Lake Wales Moose Lodge and Master of Ceremonies for Countless events. He was an avid Seminole Booster, Staunch Republican, and Defender of American Values. Steve enjoyed taking care of his cows, enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales and a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Ann Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kathy Ann Wilson; daughter, Kara Maschmeyer and husband Daniel of Bradenton; sisters, Diana Lansdale husband Eugene, Deborah Morris and husband Herschel both of Lakeland, Darlene L. Wilson of Satellite Beach; granddaughter, Addison Kelly Maschmeyer and many nieces and nephews

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church at 16 North 3rd Street Lake Wales, Florida 33853 or Lake Wales Arts Council Sandy’s Music Girls  at P.O.
