He was born March 23, 1947 in Winter Haven to the late John J. and Gladys Mize. He was a retired area court administrator for the State of Alaska and served in the U.S. Army for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Cheri Mize; daughter, Tracy Ann Mize of Texas; son, Eric Lee Mize of Alaska; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Stephen Bolden officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #8. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
