She was born January 27, 1923 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Everett and Mary Ida (Clark) Carter and she was a resident of Lake Wales from 1954 until 2011 moving here from Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a Homemaker. Fran worked as a house mother from Vanguard School for 15 years and was very active in various civic clubs in Lake Wales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rube McNabb, 2002 and her daughter Barbara Adams (John) in 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Murphy and husband Dan of Key Colony Beach, Florida; sister, Audrey Fidler of Lake Wales; brothers, Charlie Carter of Lake Wales and Jack Carter of Lake Wales; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Williams of Calvary Baptist Church of Winter Haven officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales
