Richard “Rich” Brooks of Davenport, Florida passed away on March 18, 2021. He was 77.He was born on April 1, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Earl Eugene and Catherine Hartman Brooks and moved to Davenport in 2009 from Medford, New Jersey. Rich owned and operated Brooks Truck Parking and Storage in Delran, New Jersey for some 20 years. He was a United States Navy veteran serving as a medic during the Vietnam War and was also of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #965 in Burlington, New Jersey as well as a member of the volunteer fire department in Willingboro, New Jersey. Some of Rich’s interests included bowling, going camping, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and working in his yard, but his true enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.He is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Catherine and Rich is survived by his wife, of 17 years, Janet L. Brown; children, Richie Brooks, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sharon Hasa of Naperville, Illinois, Chuck McSweeney of Marlton, New Jersey, Michelle Brooks of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Chad McSweeney of Monroe Township, New Jersey, Joe Brooks of Gibbsboro, New Jersey, Julie Brooks of Charleston, South Carolina; siblings, Kayanne Neider of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tootsie Brooks of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mary Bellan of Westfield, Pennsylvania, Judy Hanson of Marlton, New Jersey; grandchildren, Ryan Hasa, Brendan Hasa, Khristian Brooks, Michael McSweeney, Brianna McSweeney, Natalie Brooks, Jennie Brooks, Lillie Brooks, Mackenzie Brooks, Adrianna Miller and Ian Shipp.

A visitation will be Monday, March 22, 2021 from 10:00 am until the funeral at 11:30 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice 405 Arneson Avenue Auburndale, FL 33823.
