Gerald Lynn “Jerry” Sanders of Nalcrest passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

He was born January 25, 1938 in Langdale, Alabama to the late E. Walter and Mildred Sanders. Jerry joined the United States Air Force in 1958 and retired in 1978. He served in Korea and during the Vietnam era. Following his military service, he went to work for the United States Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1998. Jerry and Arlene moved to Nalcrest in 2003 from San Diego, California. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching hockey, baseball, and Lonesome Dove on TV.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene Sanders; daughter, Dana Lynn Sanders and husband Thomas Rivers of Erie, Pennsylvania; sons, James Walter Sanders of Torrance, California, and Alan Wayne Sanders of Phoenix, Arizona; and brother, Jackie L. Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the charity of your choice.
