Gordon Lavern Benson, 76Gordon Benson of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Advent Health Tampa.

He was born February 8, 1944 in Elmira, New York, to the late Gordon and Dora Benson; he moved to Frostproof from Alba, Pennsylvania in 2013, which was a dream of his. Another dream of his was to be the owner/operator of his own truck which he achieved. He attended First Christian Church of Alba, Pennsylvania while living there. When Gordon moved to Frostproof, he attended South Lake Wales Church of God. He enjoyed being outside. He was a proud Marine.

Gordon is survived by his life time partner of 37 years, Andy Hager; daughter, Kimberly J Sackmann (William) of Canton, Pennsylvania; son, Gordon L. Benson, Jr. of Wilkesboro, Pennsylvania; step-sons, Alan E. Hager, Jr. (Lori) of Ray City, Georgia, Scott E. Hager (Barbara King) of Aiken, South Carolina, and Christopher M. Hager (Jodie) of New Carlile, Ohio; sisters, Sylvia Horton (Eugene) of Millerton, Pennsylvania, Linda Stewart (Edgar) of Pine City, New York; half-sister, Caroline Freeman of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Ronald Benson (Sharon) of Pine City, New York, Larry Benson (Debbie) of Pine City, New York; half-brother, John Landon (Carol) of Canton, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
