HOPE’S OBITUARY

HOPE  STEPHANIE  GODWIN,  66Hope Stephanie Godwin of Frostproof passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at Life Care Center of Winter Haven with her family by her side.

She was born July 21, 1954 in Montgomery, AL to the late Paul and Eva Mae Zukoski; and came here from Fort Walton Beach in 1977. During her professional career, she worked as a secretary for Florida Power and then later at the Ben Hill Griffin, Jr. Elementary School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof, Beta Sigma Phi and the Eastern Star. When her daughters were young, she coached the Frostproof Youth Football Cheerleaders and girls’ softball, as well as doing artwork for the Little Miss Frostproof Pageants.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Oscar Kirkland. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Royce K. “Kenny” Godwin, Jr.; daughters, Michele Brewer and husband, Adam of Gainesville and Amanda Jacobs and husband, Justin of Yulee; son, Royce “Ken” Godwin, III and fiancé, Melanie Gagnon of Canada; sister, Paula Morris of Lake Wales; and eight grandchildren, Coral Godwin, Angel Godwin, Mason Brewer, Taylor Brewer, Phoenix Godwin, Kaui Godwin, Sophia Jacobs and Olivia Jacobs.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. The family will also receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
