Kathleen j. (Barlow) Shults, 87, of Winter Haven, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 of natural causes.

Born June 30, 1932 in Bessemer, MI to Giles and Marion (Braya) Barlow. In her early adult years, she worked as a waitress where she met her husband of 58 years, Walter P Shults, who passed on November 28, 2014. She moved from Rhode Island in 1972 to Ft. Lauderdale and later to Winter Haven, where she worked as a domestic engineer for many years. Here passions were reading and knitting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Dee VanWarmer, daughter Pam (Dan) Andrade, daughter in law Kathy (Michael) Paremsky, brother Giles “Bud” (Carol) Barlow, sister-Ramona “Tupey” (Robert) Ruditys, Tony (Joann) Barlow, and brother Richard “Dickey” (Nancy) Barlow. Kathleen is survived by 5 sons: Michael (Cindy) Paremsky. of Winter Haven, Walter P. (Carol) Shults, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff (Angie) Shults of Clermont, FL, Todd (Trish) Shults of Lakeland, FL, and David (Tracy) Shults of Lakeland, FL; 4 daughters, Gale (Bill) Bebo of Milwaukee, WI, Diane Schroeder of Milwaukee, WI, and Robin (Jim) Vander Heyden of Winter Haven, FL. She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be 12 Noon Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Chapel in Winter Haven. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
