Mattie Louise Gale, age 97, died peacefully on Dececember 30, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. She married Stanley Gale, best known as Ted, in 1946 in Orlando after WW2 and moved to Chicago where she worked as a school clerk, eventually earning a teaching degree from Chicago State University in 1970 and a master’s degree in Business in 1973. She taught in Chicago until she moved back to Florida in 1976 where she taught in Haines City until she retired in 1990. She enjoyed traveling the world for many years after retirement.Louise is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Pam and Jim Wroblewski, her brother, Erby Cheatham, grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, and Devin Wroblewski, and great grandchildren, Andrew Wroblewski and Alyze Rodriguez. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Gale, her son, Larry Gale, her sister, Lorene Hines, and her parents, Arthur and Lucy Cheatham.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 am with a graveside viewing at 10:15 a.m., all at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Church of Christ, 1232 Robinson Dr., Haines City, FL 33844.
