ROCKY “ROBBIE”‘S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran

Rocky (Robbie) Michael Frank Coviello Jr. (69), long-time Davenport, FL resident, was fatally injured in a single car crash on Country Club Road January 1, 2021.  Born February 1, 1951 in Kissimmee, FL, Robbie spent his early years in Daytona Beach, FL. He attended Davenport Elementary School and graduated from Haines City High School in June 1969. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on February 24, 1970. After completing basic training in MCRD Paris Island, SC, he graduated from Field Radio Operator School, Camp LeJeune, NC and Airborne Jump School, Fort Benning, GA. He was promoted to Lance Corporal while serving with the First Force Reconnaissance Company, 1st Marine Division (Reinforced), FMF, Camp Pendleton, CA. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksmanship Badge and Navy/Marine Parachute Insignia and was Honorably discharged December 23, 1971. Robbie was the owner and operator of Coviello Ceramic Tile Laying Company in Davenport, FL for 30 years. He was an enthusiast, team owner and driver of various drag-racing cars during his younger years. Robbie was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. Robbie served as his mother’s sole caregiver with lifelong admiration and sincere love. Robbie deeply loved and also cared for his brothers and son, Henry, Danny and Matthew throughout the years. He is survived by his mother, Helen Hornsby Coviello Theobald (94), son, Matthew Coviello (35), granddaughter, Abbey Coviello (12) and grandson, Braden Coviello (10). He was preceded in death by his father, Rocky and brothers Daniel (Danny) R. and Henry H. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021, 2:30 PM at the Davenport Evergreen City Cemetery, 1917 County Road #547 North, Davenport, FL.
