A native of Smith County, Mississippi, born January 23, 1931 to Floyd Montgomery Bynum and Flora Lee Bynum.  Sarah relocated to Winter Haven from Columbia, MS in 2013.

Sarah was proceeded in death by her husband, William Leo Owens, Sr., her son, William Leo Owens, Jr., her parents, a sister and a brother.
She is survived by daughters, Beki J. Dixon, Gwen McCool (Pat) and sons, Sam K. Owens (Melanie) and Nathan Owens (Kerri).
Sarah also leaves behind eleven (11) grandchildren and eighteen (18) great grandchildren.
