She was born June 4, 1957 in High Point, NC to the late Robert and Elizabeth Phelps. She came to Lake Wales from Fredericksburg, VA in September 2017. She was a retired contract specialist for the U.S. Government in Washington, DC and member of the HighPoint Church in Lake Wales. Meryl was considered a wonderful and caring wife, sister, mother and friend to everyone she knew. If there was such a thing, she would have been the president of the Best Friends Club. She enjoyed reading, walking, and taking care of people. She touched the hearts of all that knew her, in one way or another, and will be incredibly missed.
Meryl was preceded in death by her sister, Shari Lynn Froelich. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Robert “Scotty” Reese; daughters, Jennifer Aguayo (Paul) of Topsham, ME, Andrea Tomer (Doug) of Auburn, ME and Alicia Reese (Mason Hall) of Fredericksburg, VA, brother, Reuben Phelps of Wetumpka, AL; and two grandsons, Austin and Landon.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to the pandemic
