Reverend William L. Owens of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Winter Haven Hospital. He was 89. A native of Scott County, Mississippi, born February 10, 1929 to William and Katie Easterling Owens, William moved here in 2013 from Columbia, Mississippi. He was a retired Church of God Minister after 34 years of service.
William was preceded in death by his parents, and his son William Leo Owens, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Sarah; his sons Samuel Kelly Owens (Melanie), and Nathan Owens (Kerri); his daughters: Betty J. Dixon, and Gwen McCool (Pat). William also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
