ROSETTA’S OBITUARY

ROSE, Rosetta – With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosetta “Rose” on May 12th, 2021,
at the age of 92 in Lakeland, Florida. She was our loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and good friend to many whose lives she touched.
She will be missed by many, but she has now joined her husband of 61 years, Marion “Buddy” Rose,
whom to this day she would tell you she married him for his last name “Rose.”

They had two children, Janet Robertson and Carol Inman in those 61 years, so Marion’s last name must not have been the only
reason for their enduring love. Her name was always a conversation piece over the years. Buddy and Rose enjoyed square-dancing together over the years. Rose was an excellent seamstress, often making her own square-dancing dresses along with making clothes for her daughters. Janet and Carol gave her many grandchildren, who then provided her with multiple great grandchildren.

Rose adored traveling with her family to places she had never been before. On her first trip out of the US to Belize, the customs agent joked about her name and asked her if she was really born in 1928. On her vacation to Las Vegas, she was serenaded by none other than Elvis. Her family has great memories that were made with Rose that they will cherish always. Rose’s family constantly made sure she knew she was loved tremendously. We may be sad to not see her daily, but she is in a beautiful place where she is happy and healthy looking down upon us. We feel sure she was able to get her chocolate-covered cherries that she requested before her passing because every day is a holiday where she is now.

A service will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Auburndale, FL on Saturday, May 22nd with visitation at 9:00 am and a service at 10:00 am. After the service, Rose will be flown to Lexington, KY where she will reach her final resting place beside her husband at the Blue Grass Memorial Garden. If you wish to send flowers, you are welcome to contact The House of Flowers at 863-967-3471, located at 821 Berkley Rd, Auburndale, Florida. Donations may also be given in Rose’s name to Water’s Edge of Lake Wales (nationalchurchresidences.org), where she enjoyed her last months of life.
