ALBERT’S OBITUARY

U.S. Veteran

Albert Zink, of Davenport, FL passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Haines City, FL. He was 90. Albert was born September 16, 1930 in Marietta, PA to Albert and Pauline Baker Zink. He met the love of his life, Sara, whom he married on December of 1952, while he was stationed with the United States Army in Orlando, FL. In 1953, he took residency in Davenport, FL with his loving wife, and worked for RS Insulation for 30 plus years as a office mananger retiring in 1996. Albert was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta, PA and former member of the American Legion.Albert was a proud veteran who served his country from 1948 until 1954 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He had a passion for woodworking, whether building clocks or doing intricate woodwork on homes. Albert loved photography and spent many hours editing photos on his computer that he had taken.  He loved to spend time on his porch listening to his favorite old time music. Albert loved getaways and he would go on road trips whenever he could, either with his wife and with his grandchildren. But there was nothing he loved more than just being with his family, his loving wife remembers the times that her and her husband would take trips to their farm in Georgia.  Albert enjoyed family gatherings at his place and his last family gathering was for his 90th birthday, which was by far a remarkable memory for all.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Roxanne Zink; and his son, Raymond Dale Zink. Albert is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Sara Zink; sons, Curtis Weldon Zink and wife, Bonnie, Thomas Henry Zink, Albert Darin Zink and wife, Wendy and Zane Zachary Zink; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, FL.
