He was born August 27, 1966 in Uvalde, Texas to Roman and Julia Hernandez of Lake Wales; he came here from Texas when he was four years old. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. Roman enjoyed painting and working on cars; he loved his family dearly, especially his nieces and nephews. He would give you the shirt off his back and was his moms right hand.

Roman was preceded in death by his sister, Angelita. Survivors include his brothers, Robert Hernandez and wife Kim, of Lake Wales, and Rafael Hernandez and wife Kim of Lake Wales; nieces and nephews, Melissa Hernandez, Austin Hernandez, Ambriea Hernandez, Alysa Hernandez, and Houston Hernandez; and great-nieces and nephews, Emma Candia, Melody Candia, Colton Nichols, Aubrey Herndon, Kalynn Candia, Jaxon Herndon, and Waylon Hernandez.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Father David Vargas officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
